Bollards are used to tie the berthing vessel to the quay structure. The vessel is tugging on the bollard and trying to remove it from the quay. If the bollard can resist the pull force, the vessel will remain securely tied to the quay.
Fenders are used to protect the berthing vessel and quay structure from each other. Vessel rams into the fender. Fender absorbs the berthing energy and slows the vessel down, before it hits the quay structure.
This one is not one of ours. Pontoons float on water and provide a buoyant support to lightweight and temporary access strucutres. These can also be used to accommodate tidal movements between independent static structures.
Walkways are lightweight flying access structures, for example, connecting various sections of quay structure.
